    Description

AUTANT EN EMPORTE LE VENT.  ORIGINAL FRENCH "GONE WITH THE WIND"  POSTER!
1950  ORIGINAL FRENCH RELEASE POSTER ART.
This magnificent ORIGINAL FRENCH "AUTANT EN EMPORTE LE VENT" POSTER is LINENBACKED and measures an EPIC 47" X 63" as befitting 1939's GONE WITH THE WIND.  The condition is EXCELLENT/MINT.  ROGER SOUBLE ART.  "GWTW "( tho a symbol of hope and survival to the French) was not released in France until 20 MAY 1950 because of  World War II.  This is that original poster.
" GONE WITH THE WIND" is represented here in it's passionate epic best in the ORIGINAL FRENCH Poster from the 1940's, with breathtaking Art by the French Artist ROGER SOUBLE.  The text is in French..  The poster is considered the most beautiful poster art for GWTW  (until Howard Terping's 1968 Reissue GWTW poster which most people mistakenly think is the art from the original 1939 release).  The colors are vibrant and rich depicting Scarlett and Rhett in their passionate embrace.  The image has an interesting Art Deco quality to it, with a smaller Scarlett (wearing the incorrect Twelve Oaks Barbeque dress) courting the Tarleton Twins in the lower right foreground.  The glare and the distortion you see in my photo is from the camera, not from the poster.  The quality of this poster is exquisite. The frame is not included in the price!  Do not miss the opportunity to add this rare brilliant AUTANT EN EMPORTE LE VENT poster to your GWTW collection.
Poster Provenance: The is the first movie poster I ever purchased.   In 1976 I was riding a cross town bus on 57th St. in NYC when "I saw this hanging in a window...I simply had to have it".
So many quotes  in GWTW to select just one. And I won't quote the obvious choices.  However this one captures the essence of the movie and this poster...
"Never mind about loving me, you're a woman sending a soldier to his death with a beautiful memory.  Scarlett!  Kiss me!  Kiss me...once."
    "never live with regret".
Hello.  By way of introduction and for your information, I am TMQPOSTERS.
Everything that you will see on my EBay Selling List is from my personal private collection.  I started collecting NEW and VINTAGE ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTERS (especially GONE WITH THE WIND,  STAR WARS,
all SPIELBERG, DISNEY, ACADEMY AWARD WINNERS, BATMAN, LORD OF THE RINGS, HARRY POTTER,
CULT, CAMP, TRASH, ETC!!!) since I was a 27 year old in 1976 when I moved and lived in NYC.
All the posters (even the originally folded ones) have been rolled in tubes and stored in a temperature controlled environment from the time I purchased each one.
Needless to say, it is a diverse and eclectic collection of over 650 POSTERS.   I also collected ANIMATION ART, specifically ORIGINAL DISNEY HAND PAINTED PRODUCTION BACKGROUND PAINTINGS that went under camera in the filming of Disney movies.  I will not knowingly misrepresent the pieces I put on EBay.
All the photographs you see of my posters and art are ones that I have taken, not downloaded from other online sites. I will gladly answer all questions, discuss shipping, etc. .
Whether you're a fan, collector, dealer, and/or looking for an investment piece this is a great opportunity!.
The Movie Poster and Animation Art I offer will be interesting, diverse, original and in many cases a rare opportunity for any collector.  Yes, some are Museum quality pieces, or obviously will be.
I am soon to be 62 years old, downsizing, and divesting myself of this collection just as enthusiastically as when I started accumulating this wonderful brilliant trash. Thanks for your interest.
And wait till you see what will be "COMING SOON TO A THEATRE NEAR YOU!!!"
Too often in life we regret not doing things that we are able to do, for whatever reason, when we are presented with the opportunity to do so.
I say “Never live with regret”.
